Before I even started typing, I knew this would be one of my shortest reveiws ever.
I like Uma Thurman and all, but this is an utterly generic, utterly forgettable role for her. It could have been played by any of the usual suspects – Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman. Uma didn’t bring anything extra to the table, either. Luke Wilson fares slightly better, as few actors can come across as a likable douchebag like he does (see Idiocracy for another example). I guess Justin Long or Ryan Reynolds could have done as good a job?
Anna Faris should give her agent a raise. He’s managed to take a lowly planarian and turn her into a bankable star. How did she beat out Amy Smart, Anne Hathaway and Drew Barrymore for the role?
Why do super-power granting meteorites change your hair color? I’m sure that I’ve seen this in other films, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I could see radiation causing hair to fall out, but why would Jenny go from brunette to blonde and Hannah from blonde to redhead? Am I taking crazy pills?
I was just about to wrap up the review when I realized that I never even mentioned what the film is about. What’s the point when the title gives away the entire film – beginning, middle and end? The title is so bad that it takes away all reason to even see the film.
